SPECIFICATION

Crafted from different woods the design is mounted onto a ply backing board cut to the same shape and has a brass hanger already fitted to the back so it ready to hang straight out of the box.

Intarsia is a technique of wood laying in a similar style to marquetry, with various sizes, shapes and colours of woods being fitted together in a mosaic-like fashion to create an image. It is thought that the word 'intarsia' is derived from the Latin word 'interserere' which means "to insert".

Due to the carved and shaped nature of the individual pieces used a semi-relief effect can be created to give an impression of three dimensions with in the design.

All made from natural wooden Vietnamese and purely handmade.
