The value of rubber exports down 33%

(HQ Online) - According to statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD): Estimate the volume of exported rubber in June reached 86 thousand tons with a value of $ 153 million, with estimates 6 months in exports reached 337 thousand tons of rubber valued at USD 644 million, down 11.7% in volume and 33% in value compared with the same period in 2013.
The average export price of rubber 5 months to reach $ 1,842 / ton, down 28.9% compared to the same period in 2013. Though China and Malaysia remained the market's largest consumer of rubber in Vietnam 5 months of the year but tend to decline over the same period in 2013.
Specifically, 53.67% of China reduced volume and 53.67% in value; Malaysia fell 21.09% in volume and 45.93% in value. In the first 5 months of the year, the Dutch market has the fastest growth rate, more than 6 times more than 5 times in volume and value compared to the same period in 2013.
According to MARD, estimated volume of imports of rubber in June reached 23 thousand tons with a value of $ 49 million, bringing the volume of imports of this commodity in the first 6 months of the year reached 141 thousand tons, import value of USD 296 million , down 8.7% in volume and 15.8% in value compared with the same period last year.
NK rubber market mainly from countries such as South Korea (accounting for 21.4%), Japan (17.6%) and Cambodia (10.4%). China market is the 6th largest rubber importer of Vietnam, accounting for 5.8% of the total import value. Compared to the same period in 2013, the total volume of rubber imports from this market in the first 5 months of 2014 increased by 15.8%, import turnover increased by 5.8%.
