Development of rubber processing industry

Although the rubber exporting countries leading the world, but until now we have mainly export raw rubber latex, product processing and refining account for only 5 to 10% of total production. To create favorable conditions for the rubber industry development, the Prime Minister issued Decision 750 / Q -TTg planning rubber industry development to 2015 and vision to 2020 Accordingly, targets by 2015, the country will have 800 thousand hectares of rubber and rubber latex production to 1.2 million tonnes.

  However, until 2011, nationwide there were 834 200 ha of rubber, the latex output of 1.2 million tons. Forecast, in 2012, the area planted rubber could reach 900 thousand hectares and production of rubber latex is estimated at 1.4 million tonnes, exceeding 200 thousand tons against the target, and make our country a country with high resource-abundant natural rubber. This is a very important factor for the development of rubber industry in Vietnam. In contrast to the growth of the area and rubber latex production, investment in industrial processing and refining of rubber latex to both insufficient and poor, can not afford for the most rubber products format, high quality service in the domestic and export, bringing value to the Vietnam rubber. Therefore, the primary job of many rubber business is still growing and tapping export. This leads to the export of rubber often pressured levels and prices, and the main disadvantage is the rubber plantation.

For rubber became one of the major export items of Vietnam, to the planning area planted rubber trees in the direction of sustainable development. Accordingly, review of the development effectiveness of rubber trees in the regions and localities throughout the country; selection of seedlings suitable for the climatic conditions, the ability to grow in each region; focus development priorities in the region, there are many potential areas, especially those where the stable development of rubber trees for hundreds of years, such as the Central Highlands, South East ... Along with regional planning materials, policies are needed to support investment, especially incentives for technology, interest rates, to develop rubber industry in the country is strong enough to be able to increase the processing, refining the market gradually restriction of crude latex rubber, contributing to the export value and branding for rubber Vietnam.
