Manufacturers of rubber gloves Malaysia benefited from Ebola epidemic in West Africa as fears spread disease increases the demand for medical gloves.
According to the Association of Malaysian rubber gloves (Margma), manufacturers of rubber gloves from Malaysia will benefit outbreak of the Ebola virus epidemic (EVD) in West Africa as concerns the spread of this virus increased demand for medical gloves not only in countries with epidemics but also in countries likely to be affected.
Lim Kwee Shyan Margma chairman said, any unusual demand for rubber gloves are good for the industry. Industrial rubber gloves are relatively stable demand and any unusual demands will only mean that the diminished bargaining power will increase.
Mr Lim Kwee Shyan admitted rubber glove demand is increasing in countries affected by Ebola epidemic but "not a significant number."
"There Ebola occurred only in some countries, but if this epidemic continues to spread and become endemic, while the demand for medical gloves will increase very sharply," Mr Lim said, and also presented Margma show producers believe that the Malaysian Rubber gloves can meet any significant increase in demand due to disease outbreaks.
