The use of coconut fiber rope to produce much attract the world tourists visited Kochi in southern India.
Although this activity was common in Malaysia for half a century ago but now the rope is about to be made extinct. Malaysia can not maintain industry-friendly environment.
In the rural areas of Kochi, rope skills are traditionally conserved. The maintenance of the production work ofthe villagers rope is the right direction.
First, the villagers soak coconut fiber in water for 1 week. Then take out and use a wooden stick pounded againuntil soft. Go only to fibers like coir yarn before placing them in a wheel. Then a woman in the village will be set coir fiber processing machine finished in the traditional rope, while the other woman use both hands to pull the ropestraight from the factory. And finally by the skill and ingenuity of themselves, they braid and create thicker rope.
